Da Nang Hosts German Bundestag VP to Boost Cooperation Ties

-

A German delegation led by Bodo Ramelow recently visited Da Nang, Vietnam, to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation across various sectors between the city and German partners. The discussions focused on expanding ties in education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development. Both parties reviewed their current socio-economic collaborations and discussed opportunities for further partnership growth.

Officials from Da Nang expressed a keen interest in strengthening their relationships with German regions and institutions, particularly in the areas of human resource development, vocational education, and German language training. Additionally, the city invited more German investment, especially in high-tech industries, semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation.

Ramelow identified vocational education as a particularly promising field for collaboration. He proposed the creation of joint training programs that would allow graduates to earn qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany, facilitating a smoother transition into the workforce. He also emphasized the importance of reinforcing business ties and exploring new investment opportunities between the two regions.

Germany remains one of Da Nang’s major European partners, with collaborative efforts spanning trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange. The visit served to reaffirm the commitment of both sides to further expand their economic and institutional partnerships, underscoring the importance of continued cooperation and mutual development.
